Grzegorz Benysek

Professor at the University of Zielona Góra, author of studies about the use of power electronics in the electrical energy system; co-author of the strategy on the use of renewable energy sources.

He graduated from the Electrical Faculty of the Higher School of Engineering in Zielona Góra in 1994. Associate professor of the University of Zielona Góra since 2008. Member of organisational and scientific committees of numerous domestic and international conferences. IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and SPRINGER London reviewer. Member of the Regional Energy Council established at the Lubuskie Voivodship Marshal’s office where he co-authored the strategy for the renewable energy sources’ use in the Lubuskie Voivodship. Board Member of the Zielona Góra Association for Renewable Energy. Member of the Energy Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań. Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the University of Zielona Góra. He is actively helping to build up an energy-wise society and intensify the use of renewable energy sources in energy industry and road traffic. He is a coordinator of numerous European grant projects, e.g. under PHARE, INTERREG or LRPO. He developed the Lubuskie Ecological Car and co-created the EkoEnergetyka Zachód – a company developing i.e. the project for the construction of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and another project for construction of hybrid micro-power plants in one’s backyard.
